Oh my god, I just bought myself a new pair of Converse All-Stars! The shoes are navy with a grey thick edge at the ankle with a red/white/blue stitched pattern on it. It looks kind of like the Dutch flag :) Have a look down below!

Holy Horror

I have been looking all over the place for those cute saints-bracelets, and I finally got one! A friend of mine was in Amsterdam and bought me one as a little gift :) It's blue, and legend has it that all of the pictures will fall off, and the last one remaining will be my personal holy bodyguard.
I felt so safe that I watched a horror-movie, what was a very courageous thing to do for me. I am (well, was) so terrified of horror-movies that is was absurd, but I wasn't scared afterwards, so I guess my holy bodyguard has done it's job. I really hope it will bring me more than just courage, a bit of love wouldn't be so wrong after all!

Just wanted to let you know that I bought a Letterman jacket! A friend of mine offered me to try it on, and it was pure magic ever since. So when I went shopping last week with my family I found the exact same one, dangling on the "rejected-clothing-rack", so I took it. Even though it's from an all-women clothing shop, it fits me right and I am happy with it. Take a look below to see what it looks like :)

Cheers, Alexander McQueen just launched his new pre-collection for women spring/summer 2012! And I know, that's still a year from now, but who cares? It's fashion. But when I took a look at it, something new caught my eye. Sarah Burton, (also known for me as Alexandra McQueen (it's almost magical how she kept the style from Lee and put her own style into it, it's like a big fashion-cocktail!)) designed a collection that had a theme very different than former collections.. safari! Even though Alexander McQueen isn't a brand that would follow trends, Sarah chose safari. And did she pulled it off; camel trenchcoats, camouflage-blouses, african beading-details. J'adore! And when you're lost in the jungle and you run into a cannibal-party, you can always take out your safari-ballgown.

I love how Sarah gave the trenchcoats a tail. It's very DIY-able too! The only thing to do is draw the shape of the tail (in the front the trench is like groin-height, then the seam bends down and drops to knee-height), cut the remaining part away, finish the raw edges and done! If I can get my hands on a camel trenchcoat in size XS, I would totally give it a tail and post it here. But for now just take a look!

34. Compete in a Flashmob

I went to England for a week to come up with little plays together with a boys-school, and then to perform those 2 days later. I have had the best week of my life.
But another aspect of that week was to perform a flash-mob on airport Weeze, Germany. It was more of a flash-fail (the music couldn't be played on the very-very loud speakers, so there wasn't any). Anyway, I will try it a second time, and only then I will have fulfilled my task.

I've abandoned you for a long time, and I need to apologize for that. I have been busy lately with school and remembering things ( a personal I-remember-everything-thing would come out handy ) so please accept my apoligies.

So, I am a huge fan of Lady Gaga and I have been waiting for centuries until she would release her new album (born this way) and the due-date would be 23th of May. Guess what, it is available! IT IS AVAILABLE! I am already addicted to Bloody Mary and Heavy Me(n)tal Lover (i'm not sure if it is mental of metal) Unfortunately I'm at my dad's house, which means I can't download it. Epic fail.

Shinin' a spotlight on Jeremy Scott!

This is the man responsible for my obsession for Mickey-Mouse shades. Lady Gaga also wears these übercool shades plus an entire look from his Fall 2009 collection, featuring a yellow dress with mickey-faces on it, and some mickey-ears functioning as sleeves. Wearing a product from him would make you instantly cool. That's probably the reason why so many brands are collaborating with him; Adidas collaborated with him what resulted in sneakers with wings, leopard-printed tracksuits and original use of the Adidas-logo, as seen below. Another successful collaboration was with Swatch, and that resulted in watches (duh) with wings, lightning-shaped straps and even a frame of a painting surrounding the clock itself. His idea of fashion has convinced me to buy a grey v-neck t-shirt with a vintage Mickey Mouse on it (bought at the Sting in Arnhem, Holland)
Jeremy himself is a notable appearance himself; A shaved mohawk hairdo is part of his signature look; he always wears clothing reflecting his collections.
One story short; Jeremy is an inspiration, and possesses the ability to make somebody instantly cool!

Omg, via another blog I found this awesome video about a bunch of american designers and their thoughts about fashion from the Zeros. The weird thing is that some things are actually close! For example; a zipper which enables the sleeve to be removed? I've posted a picture from a jacket (rad hourani) with the same features. Skirts will dissapear entirely? Not entirely true. But what about the jumpsuit? It's in the video. Amazing!

This is such a terrible day. The things I ordered from Zara are ill-fitting (they are rectangle-shaped, I'm not an icecube!) but I was really excited about the coat. I also made a new e-mail address for myself (the other one was made ages ago) and I thought I had all my contacts transferred (not). What I really need now chocolate.

But there is also some good news though! My brother works as an au-pair in Germany with a family who comes originally from America, and he's in town for a week. As a gift he made a new header for my blog (which was non-existent at first) and matched the whole lay-out with my header.
I really hope to find a trenchcoat-esque coat this Saturday, otherwise I'm doomed..

Money + Me + Fashion = Natural Disaster

This weekend I will go shopping in Apeldoorn, where all my favorite shops are located. I have all the money fromy my birthday (like 140 euros) That is much for me because I always buy at Zara and H&M so imagine how many clothes I am going to buy! I really want to go edgy with my style, to define who I am. Also I am going to take a job at the cafetaria (I know, those evaporating oils will be bad for my skin and hair, but it'll be worth it). And my school has chosen me with some others to go to Britain to participate in a theater/musical festival! I will go with the dutch people on an airplane (true first time was when I was a baby) and we will stay in a creaky hostel. But it will be fun, one day of the five we can spend on shopping in London (PRIMARK PRIMARK PRIMARK) and I just love London.

DIY; Nail-studded Hoodie

This hoodie is from the Supreme photoshoot with Lady GaGa ( shot by Terry Richardson). The hood and shoulders are studded with nails. Sounds easy, but you might need to fasten them with a bit of glue? And maybe you need to glue some thin cartboard to the places where the nails go and thén pierce the nails through, otherwise the nails will point down.
Donno what those strange bigger metal things are, they look like knives with the back pointing outwards.

I am a huge fan of Katy Perry and when I saw her new video (E.T with Kanye West) I fell in love with her alien-ish outfits. The first looks like an egyptian dress with a huge train. The black shiny pipes on her dress are so cool! The second is a look from Viktor & Rolf spring/summer 2011. The collection was based on the white shirt, and this was the bridesdress. Love her eyes in this scene. Last dress is actually a brestplate with the huge train again:P. In my eyes she looks a bit like a lion with the blonde ponytail and the make-up. Also her armprotectors are so cool! Take a look below.

H&M Fashion Against Aids 2011!

On the 26th of april a new collection of fashion against aids will be launched in the Divided department from H&M. I am so excited! I've seen the pieces, and they are absolutely fabulous. T-shirts, chinos, parkas, trenches and even overalls for women and men! The collection has a palette from pastel-colours, like greys, mint-green, orange (!), and a lot of prints.
I've also seen a market-bag which we also have seen at Jil Sanders show, but instead of cellophane, these are made from fabric. There is also a kind of mash-up belt/suspenders thingy, which I would love to DIY. They even have designed a little can for condoms. Sexy fashion ^^

I am going to try to DIY these, absolutely fabulous!

So, now it is spring I've decided to quit the numbers in my blogtitles because I didn't like it that much anymore. From now on no more numbers!
I have also changed the lay-out, because it is spring and I wanted to have a spring-ish feeling when I visit my blog. I also have very much DIYs in my head, like this tee. The text makes it sassy;)

Rad Hourani is a designer who I've found recently and I am just in love with his work. He (in my eyes) designs clothing which can be worn by men and women, uses sober colors and his designs are very minimalistic. Also he likes to use zippers, so that his clothing can be worn in 10 different ways. I really want to DIY one of his jackets, because it is simply too expensive to buy it. I got a serger for my birthday, so I can use stretch-fabric now. I'll put down his own website and the jacket I really wanna have ;)

OMG! I just heared on the news that John Galliano has been fired, and that is just shocking news. He did such a good job at Dior, and he really put the brand on the lists again. He was fired because of an offensive clip posted on the internet where he is insulting jewish women. According to the dutch news. Well. They better get someone as genius as John, otherwise it is Dior going down, down down.

#10 Cargo skinny jeans

Lately I have been looking for jeans and trousers with a little twist, because I find regular jeans boring. Well, I found this pair of trousers on Selfridges.com, and I adore them. I love the zipper at the back of the leg, and the tapered shape. Those pockets on the side are not only very useful, they also give a great silhouette.

A cargo is a pair of trousers with very much pockets, and it was usually worn by soldiers.

#6 The Military Trend

Lately you see all kinds of military outfits on the street. The key-piece for this look is the jacket. At my school you see girls with these fabulous jackets everywhere. Even I want one (and I'm a guy). I really love the detailing on the chest, and you can mix this style with almost anything. It looks great with cargo-pants, but also a shredded jeans will do. Balmain did a wonderful collection with some of these jackets. And when I saw Dolce&Gabanna do the men's version of the military jacket, my heart jumped in my chest. Gimme gimme gimme! Wanna have it! I saw a commercial from H&M with a little boy wearing the IT-jacket. But unfortunately none of the stores had it. Dream on, boy.

#5 SAG Awards 2011

It's award season and we have just had the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Although it's not the Oscars, still very interesting when it comes to fashion. This year my best-dressed was January Jones, with a golden baroque-printed Carolina Herrera. Her hair was flowy and beautiful styled.
My worst dressed was Amy Adams, wearing a white dress from Herve Leroux. I think she just looked a little plain, with the hair tied in a ponytail and mediocre accessories. The dress was stunning, though.
Now, I also have a "Could've done better", and that was Lea Michele. She wore a Oscar de la Renta metallic dress, and it looked great on her, but her hair. It was like the wind was blowing right in her face, not very pretty, to be honest.

#4 Elie Saab Spring 2011 Couture

Talking about a flash of inspiration. Ten minutes ago I have posted another piece already, and here I am, writing a new one. This time about colourful, flowery couture. Elie Saab's couture. Because, who doesn't love couture?

The collection excisted of beautiful, soft but sexy, impeccably made nightgowns. It started off with peach dresses, dotted with flowers made of chiffon. Then some glitter and draping followed. Fresh lavender kicked in, followed with some flower printed mesh. It was Spring season captured in a dress. Some strong red dresses followed, waking us up from the soft, sweet colours. Some greens, whites and blacks mixed with sheer fabrics, beading and lace dominated the second half of the show. And of course, the Bride was the most impressive dress of them all.

The highlight from this collection were the dresses made from printed chiffon and the black/white dresses. Very sexy but in an innocent way. Awesome!

#3 Front-split Jackets

Jackets have been re-invented by Burberry and Ann Demeulemeester, by cutting horizontally at the height of the waist, or even cutting the jacket or coat in half and place a zipper instead, like Burberry did. Isn't this genius? This looks so more modern and cool, and great inspiration for DIY. Listed below are some examples of these fantastic jackets.

Here I am again, writing my second post. I am going to try every day, to get used to it.

So, a friend of mine has recommended the men's collection of D&G 2011 Fall. I needed to take a look at that very cool yellow jacket on Facebook, she told me. Too bad, I really couldn't find it. So she sent it to me. And I fell in love!
The whole collection is filled with sneakers, corduroy jeans with dropped crotches, tees with Coca-Cola printed on them, véry cute jackets (wanna have it!) and.. fur? I was amazed about the furry-thing, as far as I know I don't see a man wear fur. But of course; even the fur-coats were beautifully made, and really, réally cool. Another thing I loved about the collection is the boy-ishness from the clothing. Much things looked a bit grown up, with a teenage touch to it. At the finale of the show, all the models walked their final round in bright-couloured t-shirts with prints from Mickey Mouse and Coca Cola. So, let me introduce you to the wonderful world of D&G meets Coca-Cola;

So.. this is it. My first post on my brand new blog. Exciting!
I was thinking about a blog for a long time, and now I have finally made the decision. I am just gonna do it.
